Government of Pakistan will advertise the jobs for the Chairman and Members of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority afresh, while an interim chairman for the authority is likely to be appointed during the on-going week.
This was stated by a deputy attorney general and IT Ministry’s counsel in Lahore High Court last week when a petition challenging the advertisement of Chairman and Members of PTA was being heard court.
They said that the federal government had cancelled the recruitment process initiated for filling posts of PTA members through an advertisement on June 14.
It maybe recalled that jobs for Chairman and Members of PTA has been advertised for three times, while the slots are lying vacant for over six months now.
At the same time, a summary has been moved to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the interim appointment of the Chairman of PTA, reported The News.
The Cabinet Division, according to the report, forwarded this summary to PM proposing an acting charge to be given to suitable person on interim basis so that the solution could be achieved to first appoint members of PTA and then nominate one of them as chairman of the Authority.
If approved by PM, it is likely that an interim chairman of authority to get appointed during the on-going week.
